Philippians 2 -“Learning How To Live Like Jesus”

Episode Notes

I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel… I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance (Php 1:12, 19).

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:12–13)

“Learning How To Live Like Jesus”

  1. To be a servant like Jesus we should not only look after our own well-being but after the well-being of others.Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (Lk 23:43)
  2. “Father, forgive them because they don’t know what they’re doing.” (Luke 23:34)
  3. The Apostle Paul says that we should have the same humility of heart and posture as Jesus, our Lord
  4. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
  5. “When Christ calls a man, he bids him to come and die.” Dietrich Bonheoffer
  6. “Grace is not opposed to effort; it is opposed to earning.” Dallas Willard
  7. Jesus gave us the free gift of salvation, His desire now is to mature in the faith and obedience is the path to Christian maturity.
  8. Setting aside complaining or arguing is a discipline that is only possible when God’s people humble themselves and realize the blessings of grace and salvation.
  9. A gentle answer turns away wrath. But a harsh word stirs up anger. (Proverbs 15:1)
  10. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Luke 12:34)
  11. When we hold fast to the word of life, God will open up opportunities to hold out the words of life, offering them to our families, friends, and our community.
